“Celebrate the Mouse” Public Awareness Campaign

The AALAS Foundation will be introducing its 2015 “Celebrate the Mouse” lapel pin and initiative at the national meeting in November – in conjunction with National Alzheimer’s Awareness month!

The “Celebrate the Mouse” program serves to create awareness about the important role of animals in research. The “Celebrate the Mouse” pin, with its tail curled into a purple ribbon, was designed by the AALAS Foundation to celebrate the research mouse and the important role it has placed in the advancement of Alzheimer’s disease research.

Stop by the AALAS Foundation Booth in Phoenix and make a $5.00 minimum donation and receive a “Celebrate the Mouse” lapel pin PLUS a National Meeting souvenir photo of yourself!

You may donate and receive a “Celebrate the Mouse” pin any time the AALAS Foundation Booth is open during the National Meeting; however, the “green screen” for taking souvenir photos will only be available the following dates and times: You must present your “Celebrate the Mouse” lapel pin to receive a souvenir photo:

“Express Your Inner Hero” Art Contest

We are excited about the AMAZING entries received into the 2015 “Express Your Inner Hero” art contest to benefit the AALAS Foundation at this year’s National Meeting.

A total of forty-seven (47) artistic expressions have registered to participate in the contest.

Check out our Facebook photo gallery to view some of the MASTERPIECES we’ve already received for entry into the contest.

Online “voting”/donating for the four category winners is officially open. Click here to “vote”/donate for your favorite art entry.

A “vote” is actually a donation to the AALAS Foundation, made on behalf of your favorite art entry.

The art entries will be displayed at the National Meeting at the “Express Your Inner Hero” Art Contest booth (next to the AALAS Foundation booth) beginning Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 9:00 am in Phoenix.  “Voting”/donating ends Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 at 11:00 am MST.

The art entries receiving the most “votes”/donations in each of the four categories (Branch, Individual, Corporate, Institution/Organization) will be deemed the winner of their category.

The “Fan Favorite” award will be presented to the entry receiving the most “likes” on the AALAS Foundation’s Facebook photo gallery.

A “Best of Show” winner will be selected by a select group of AALAS leadership at the National Meeting.

Each winning category entry will be automatically placed up for bid at the AALAS Foundation’s Appreciation Reception & Live Auction to be held Wednesday evening, November 4th, 2015 at the Phoenix Ballroom, C&D, in the Sheraton Hotel, in Phoenix, AZ.

Awards will be presented to all six winners during the 2015 AALAS Foundation Appreciation Reception, sponsored by Charles River. The Appreciation Reception begins at 6:30 pm and is open to all 2015 AALAS National Meeting attendees.
