November 12, 1981 – January 15, 2020
Lisa Marie Panchella was the beloved wife of Thomas P. Panchella, and loving mother of their son, Brayden. Lisa was known by so many with National AALAS and Delaware Valley Branch AALAS. Lisa touched so many people within our community and her beautiful soul is greatly missed, but, never forgotten.
Lisa grew up in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, graduated from Upper Darby High School (1999) Albright College (BS Biology 2003), and Drexel University School of Medicine (MLAS 2005).
On August 21, 2004, Lisa met and fell in love with her adoring husband of eleven and one half years. On September 15, 2012, Lisa's dream came true when she gave birth to their only child, Brayden.
Through the years, Lisa worked at UPenn in the Office of Regulatory Affairs as the Animal Welfare Compliance Manager, as well as the Compliance Monitor, Temple University, as an IACUC Program Coordinator, and the Wistar Institute as the Research Compliance Manager. Lisa was an active Board Member of the Delaware Valley Branch AALAS, serving as the DVB AALAS Webmaster. Lisa's passion had always been for the welfare of animals in biomedical research. Lisa was brilliant and her work ethic was unsurpassed. Lisa's dedication to service enabled the work of all who sought her help. Her professionalism and team focus are respected and acknowledged by her many colleagues and research compliance community.
Lisa led a colorful life, surrounded by an amazing group of family and friends, and touched the hearts of everyone she met along the way. She had a gigantic smile that could light up a room, a fun and witty sense of humor, along with the most loving and caring attitude that was unparalleled. Lisa will be forever missed, and it is an honor that she is part of the AALAS Foundation Memorial Wall.
Give in memory of Lisa Panchella and help keep her passion alive through the AALAS Foundation.
